After getting a taste of open club ultimate in 2006 we came back in '07 with some experience under our belts.  The 2007 season started off strong, with tryouts coming in March instead of June, a better vision of where we wanted to go and how to get there, and 65 guys interested in trying out.  It's nice to live in an area with 5 strong college ultimate programs.

We had tryout tournaments at April Fools, DUI, and Cal States.  During that time we beat teams such as the Condors and played many great games.  We really didn't start to get rolling until we rented a 12-passenger van and headed up to Eugene for Summer Solstice.  With 14 guys at the tournament our lines got to know each other better and better as the tournament progressed.  We had a breakout performance, beating Sack Luch, Contra, Blackfish, THBC, and Invictus, as well as giving Sockeye their closest game of the tournament.  More importantly, this is where we found the dish offense that would shape our season (thanks Sockeye!).

We fine tuned our offense and defense over the next 8 weeks, preparing for Discos.  Wearing some of the sweetest uniforms ever made, we descended on Discos Calientes in August.  Our O and D prep, along with our track workouts, paid off, as we crushed team after team before beating LA Monster/Entourage 13-8 in the finals.  The teams first tournament victory was celebrated with Sierra Nevada brew to cap off a hot but rewarding weekend.  This victory would pay even bigger dividends, as it got us into the Labor Day tournament, one of the most competitive tournaments in the country.

Starting off strong, we took down Voodoo of Seattle.  Continuing our strong play, next up was Sockeye.  We continued to play well, going up 10-7, game to 13.  After Sockeye made some adjustments we began to falter, and secceded 6 straight points to lose 10-13.  This was definitely a wake up call for us, we almost beat the best team in the WORLD.  We played pretty well throughout the weekend, with many tight games against tough competition.  At Sectionals we had chances to beat Jam and Revolver, and proved to ourselves that it will happen sooner or later.

Our last tournament of the season was NW Regionals.  We reached our goals and put ourselves in contention for a bid to Nationals.  That's all we could of asked for in our 2nd season in the NorthWest Region.  We finished in 6th place behind Sockeye, Jam, Furious, Rhino, and Revolver.  We proved to ourselves we could beat any of these teams, now we just have to do it this upcoming season.  It will be an awesome year, with nothing to lose and lots of fun to be had, I have a feeling we are going to surprise quite a few teams on our way to another successful season.
